Here are some helpful tips from high schoolers:
Make a plan a week or two before the exam. Clearly and thoroughly list what you’ll do each day. This will help prevent stress and make you better prepared for your midterms.
Set a timer and clear distractions from your workspace. You will be more productive.
List topics/questions you’re confused on and ask about them in office hours or class. Remember, your teacher is there to help.
Go over problems you got wrong in the past and figure out a problem-solving method so you won’t get tripped up again on the midterm.
Take notes in class which you can refer to while studying.
Use peer tutors and reach out to your teachers. They are all valuable resources.
Look for extra practice problems (especially in math courses) for additional help with topics.
Work hard. Don’t stress! Focus on learning the material and developing good study skills.
